A Letter to my Love; Here’s to our First Year of Marriage.

Alex,

You never realize how fast a year has gone by until there is significance to a certain day and then boom it’s been a full year. Today is Easter, April fool’s Day, but the best day to me. Because I married you, my best friend, this day last year. Happy Anniversary my Love. I can’t (but can) wait until we can say Happy 50 years of Marriage. At that point we will probably be too old to remember but it’s ok.

This first year of marriage has been pretty easy on us. Well, we didn’t kill each other. We hear the first year marriage is the hardest, but I know you’ll agree that it’s not always true. I think the hardest part for our relationship was leading up to the wedding. The struggle of having a newborn, symptoms of PPD, and planning a wedding didn’t mix well with my unbalanced hormones. So the year leading up to it was hard. This year was a piece of cake.

I know we’re not perfect and when we bicker most of the time it’s usually because I’m in a bad mood and think I need to pick a fight about everything. But I love you and our love. I love how our love began and the thought of how it happened at the RIGHT TIME. When I tell you I love you like crazy, I mean it whole heartedly. I literally can feel it in my bones. I feel like you were the missing piece of my life and I could never imagine losing you.

I love the mornings when you are home and Kingston hasn’t woken up. These days, they are rare, but I tell you to roll over so we can semi-cuddle because I never want to at night. I’m sorry it might last only a few minutes but I love those few minutes. I always tell you this, but every night I fall asleep thinking about how lucky I am to have you and how much I love you.

We are still growing and learning how to be the best version of ourselves around each other, but you constantly make me want to be the best partner I can be. I love the drive our family gives you. Since the day we started dating I could see the way our life together pushed you to be the best man and then the best father. You are THE BEST FATHER I COULD EVER WANT FOR OUR CHILDREN AND THE BEST MAN I COULD OF MARRIED. You would literally do anything for me. Every crazy idea or project, you don’t even blink and it’s done. Your patience with me and especially with Kingston. I mean, come on SUPER HUSBAND & DAD.

I know every year won’t be as easy as this year was for us. We will have plenty more disagreements, face harder times than we have had, but my hope is that we never lose our quirky sense of humor and flirtatious love that we have for each other. I love you. Here’s to Forever!

Love,

Your Wife
