A Moment in Time.

Today, I wanted to try portrait shots of the kids. I don't have a studio and I'm not a professional. I have one very old camera, and a cute professional looking natural light. But the rest of the items I put together to make these shots stand out. Oh, I also have Adobe Lightroom. This helps enhance and filter photos, if needed. For these photos, I used a black, blackout curtain we have. I have used a black item before when doing older portraits of Kingston, so I know it works best if I really want their little faces to stand out in the photos.
I wanted to stop just for an instance to capture a moment in time that reveals the personalities of my babies and the light that hits every feature of their face. Tiny crumbs that live on their lips and their long eyelashes that enhance all the colors of their eyes. Their ears that slightly stick out and the tiny bags that lay under their eyes.
These portraits embody their personalities at each milestone. Kingston, 6, who is hardheaded like me, but still enjoys the silly things in life, like fart noises. Cleo, 7 months, smiling at all the wonders around her.
Kingston has a teeny freckle by his lips I always notice and a green and yellow hue to his eyes. He definitely has his daddy's eye color. Think of all the colors of fall leaves and that's his eyes. And the way any light hits his face causes a glowing effect. Every time I capture a moment of him in a picture, I'm in complete awe of how beautiful he is.
Cleo girl ❤️ I can just look at her right now and her grin is as big as her face. Everytime she smiles really big, I see her Daddy so much. The photo where she has more of a pout face, reminds me of my chubby round baby face. When she smiles, her little face crinkles up and one of her eyes always looks like she is about to wink. Her eyes remind me of blue ocean waters. White caps in her eyes with all depths of the sea.
The thing is, these photos took less than about 5 minutes with both kids. I opened the curtains today and the dreary bright light came through. Kingston ran by and I instantly knew I wanted to capture these photos. It was a perfect quick moment with these two and their beautiful faces.
I know life is busy and I don't have time to remember a lot of things, but I want to remember everything about my kids. So having a little time to really capture these tiny details on them and see how fast they are growing is everything to me. 💙❤️
