Happy 2nd Birthday Kingston Alexander!!
Another 365 days have come and gone, and here you are, a wild 2 year old.
This year has been one for the books and I hope I remember most of it to tell you all things about it when you are older. I'll do my best to put the good stuff in here.
First off, like the first letter and all the letters from now on, I love you. Daddy and I love you so far past the moon and back.
Year 2.
Welcome to what they call"terrible two's" little man. This is what most people warn us parents about when children turn 2, but let's just say you started experiencing meltdowns way before your birthday. Yes, you have tantrums. But you are still a pretty chill dude. Your curiosity and the way you look over at us as if you were asking us to tell you about something is incredible to witness. I know all kids are like this, but to see it first hand from your own child is powerful. I'm so proud of everything you do and have accomplished and your only 2. Like last night, May 30th (obviously this letter is written after your actual birthday because I'm always late with these.) We were walking to get Ice Cream and you were holding my hand. You tripped just a tad over your feet because at the moment you like to walk on your toes. Your knee had gotten scraped on the black top. It wasn't bad and you didn't cry. You touched it saying ouch, and we continued to walk. When we got back to the camper, it was bath night and I wanted to clean your knee from the blacktop. I knew it was going to hurt, but we had to get it cleaned. I put you in the tub, and the water barely touched your knee and you were scared to sit down. You cried some and I told you that it will only hurt for a small amount of time, that once you are in the water it will start to feel better. I prepared your knee by barely patting it with water. I said try and sit down now, and there you went. No crying and being scared. I could tell it was bothering you a little but you were so big doing this. A few minutes went by and you were playing like normal. You were brave!
Another small but proud moment, is when you went from drawing scribbles and straight lines to making circles when you color. Now as I'm hoping to post this, it's 4 months after your birthday and you now color individual parts of pictures completely.
Now a days, you have become such a Daddy's Boy. This is still true, and even a Momo's boy. Which I love, but also envy. I get snuggles when it's just you and me! Your daddy loves you so much and I love witnessing the bond you both have. We are still in awe of how we have been blessed with you. We are the lucky ones, I swear.
This year we decided to have our family vacation on your birthday. We stayed in Orlando, Fl at a beautiful resort. We didn't realize it was going to be so nice. It was amazing! We went to the aquarium, beach, zoo, science center, and the crayola experience. It was the best week and you did so well. The drive there and back was easy and you were sleeping well. Took a million bubble baths and played with all your new toys. We are ready for another trip!
We celebrated your birthday with family on June 9th. We had another swimming party. Last year ended up being fun and laid back. So we decided to do it again. Your cousins were there and your future best friends. Everyone had a blast! It was another amazing birthday!
Here are things you love!
Riding the full wheeler. You run and hop right on top by yourself, and yell for us to come ride by saying "go". Once you realize how to hold the brake in and push the button together, we are in trouble. You already help start it and then know the accelerate button. You'll be riding by yourself in no time.
Reecie/Sissy. You love her so much. The first thing you want to do in the mornings is run in and hug her. You give her kisses and so many hugs. Some times you even try to ride her. I definitly think she is used to you now. She even attempts to kiss you as you walk by.
Cuddling with your daddy. This is a real funny thing. I can pull you over to me and you scoot right back over to him and cradle yourself under his arm. Side note, you don't do this that much anymore. More snuggles with mom!
Playing in water, no matter where it is. Bubble baths, swimming, throwing rocks in the river, or splashing in a mud puddle. You could play in water all day!
Artistic Crafts. This is some what because I like doing these, but I love watching you go crazy in paint or coloring. This year, we created moon sand, slime, and a couple other silly crafts!!
-The Seabase Family Fun Center in PA. Anytime we get the chance to take you here, we do. You love it so much! It's like a big play area and then it has an arcade.
Few things to know:
- You said your first curse worse on your birthday. Using the statement "Oh Sh*t" in the correct context.
-You (hairline) fractured your humerus before you even turned 2. Apparently, this happens a lot in kids. It healed quickly, and even the day after the ER trip you were moving it for your Daddy.
-During our Vacation, on the last day, you pooped in the tub for the first time. And then proceeded to pick it up as if it were a toy. But we got it. It was definitely funny! Your daddy looked over to me and said "babe..." and I just knew. I was like no way. And sure enough, there was a turd.
There are so many other stories and things I could mention, but at the moment I'm four months late at sharing this and I don't remember at the moment. I will probably come back and add stuff. I hope you know how much you mommy and daddy and everyone in your family love you. We all want to spoil you constantly because you deserve the world. When your mean, that's another story.
We hope your 2 years (and 4 months) of life so far, has been full of joy and love. We love you to the moon and back, bug.
Here are some photos. Birth, 1 year, 2 year and other 2 year pictures.
